Paint Around - May 17, 2025
The Paint Around is an unforgettable experience! The combination of artists' banter, attendees' participation, and the showcase of diverse techniques make for a fun-filled day. This year we are partnering with the ArtCenter Manatee for their Children's Art Programs.
Highlights from the Event

Unique techniques: Artists demonstrate various methods, including painting upside down, using a hair dryer, and manipulating pigment on wet paper.

Stylistic diversity: Attendees witness a range of styles, from loose and expressive to detailed and precise, with varying levels of water usage.

Stunning artwork: The event culminates in the creation of 5 breathtaking watercolor pieces and 2 impressive community acrylic art pieces.
2025 participating artists
Sue Lynn Cotton - Sue Lynn moved to Florida in 2002 allowing her to follow her dream of being a full-time fine artist. She began doing portraits of island houses, businesses, pets and people. Living in a beach area she paints lots of "beauty"scenes.
Sue Lynn is also a book illustrator and book cover designer. She has illustrated over 50 children’s books. Most of these are available through Peppertree Press in Sarasota, FL. See Sue Lynn's work at SueLynnCotton.com
Janet Goldman - Janet graduated in 1976 from the University of Cincinnati with a BS of D in Industrial Design. She managed teams of designers in the Point of Sale Industry for over 35 years. With Alliance Display,
Weyerhauser, Pax and Chesapeake Display.
Janet also studied Calligraphy, Watercolor, Basket Weaving, Colored Pencil, Surface Design, Polymer Clay, Pottery, Soft Sculpture Dolls and Quilting. You name it, she did it! Janet continues to study art of ALL kinds and also teaches at ACM.
Diane Simon - Diane started with ceramics and Tole Painting, but found her passion when introduced to watercolor in 2005. Diane teaches art in many places, as well as judges, and demonstrates. She is also a Signature Member of the Florida Watercolor Society, earned Master status with the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society, is a Signature Member of Southern Watercolor and belongs to the American Watercolor Society. Diane holds classes in Kings Point, Sun City Center. She was accepted into the Watercolor Splash magazine 2023. Check her Facebook page for more information and see her artwork

Nancy White - Nancy moved to Florida in 2014 and started drawing again when she met a group of artists that have become great friends. She has loved to draw since a teenager. Nancy is an award winning and published Color Pencil artist. She enjoys working with multiple mediums, but color pencil is her favorite. Nancy holds monthly art workshops with a variety of mediums. Sally Wooldridge - As a small child Sally initially drew animals. She had many animal companions throughout her life, and has a deep love and respect for them. Her passion for drawing turned into experimenting with pastels, acrylics, pen and ink, oils, and watercolors. Although she took a few class and workshops in drawing, Sally is basically a self-taught artist. When she discovered watercoloring, she fell instantly in love with the medium, and overtime has developed into a watercolorist. You can see her works at https://www.facebook.com/sallywooldridgeartist

A Good Cause
Our Paint Arounds not only celebrate art but also support a worthy cause, the Herrig Center for the arts Children's Art Programs for underprivileged children. It's wonderful to see creativity and community come together for a positive impact!
